Patty and I were friends in school but became better friends several years later. She joined our group for a couple of whitewater trips to West Virginia and years later when I saw that I was going to move back to Greensboro she helped me find a house. A class act at all times, a real stand up person and a real blast on a river trip weekend. She is gone much too soon.

Patty was a good friend when we were in high school, and boy did we ever get into trouble together! She was a kind, generous person, who never spoke ill of anyone. She always had a 'way-out' for them..

Patty and I re-connected last year when I dscovered her on Classmates, and then here on this site of ours. As some of you may know. I had an accident and found myself recovering over last year. In that time Patty and I were on the phone, girl talk, memory walking, emotionally supporting each other. She had struggles with her health and they were intense over some years. But this lady never sounded down, never complained, never cried or raled at the unfairness of life.

I am proud to have known her. I can only hope to be as gracious and benevolent as she has set the standard!
