Charles passed away from natural causes in the house where he lived during high school.

He is sorely missed by his family and friends.  He was a caring uncle and was like an uncle to my daughter.  My mom and sister still chuckle at some of his jokes and antics.

Charles drove a cab and dated a cougar in Los Angeles in the mid 70s.  I visited him over the summer before graduation.  What an experience.

NYC beckoned.  He lived there for about 12 years, including Brooklyn Heights and the East Village neighborhoods.  The East Village was not “in” when he lived there.  One night a robber carrying a knife entered Charles’s apartment, threatened Charles and fled with cash.  Charles called the police and took chase.   They apprehended the robber, but unfortunately he did not serve time.  I mention this because this kind of thing is a little unusual, and to show Charles had chutzpah .

I could prattle on with anecdotes, but I will close by saying that I am very glad Charles was my friend.
