Craig Canfield

Family-Placed Death Notice

CANFIELD, Craig Craig L. Canfield, 58, of Marietta, died February 27, 2010, surrounded by his loving wife, Joyce, and family. Craig lived in the Atlanta area for 30 years after moving from Greensboro, N.C. He attended Mitchell College in Statesville, N.C. and UNC-Greensboro. He was born January 31, 1952, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Mark Betts Canfield and Leonora Webb Canfield Goldbeck. In addition to his wife of 28 years, he is survived by a sister and her husband, Glen and David Sweet of West Chester, PA, and a brother, Mark, of Virginia Beach, VA. Other family members include stepmother Christine Canfield of Sandy Springs and father-in-law Marvin B. Williams of Hazlehurst. He is also blessed with a wonderful extended family that includes Penny and Nelson Farr, Kaye and Brett Jenkins, Jill Jackson, Jim and Charlene Jackson, Gail and Stanley Land, Hilda and Jeff Parker, Blan and Hope Williams, Daniel and Cynthia Barrett. Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews tell their own "Uncle Craig" stories. Craig's English Springer Spaniels Molly, Lucille, and Watson were an important part of his life, as everyone quickly learned upon meeting him. And the Harley - as much as one can love an inanimate object, he loved that bike. Joyce didn't always think quite as highly of his motorcycle adventures but those are stories that his riding buddies, friends and family can share as they reminisce. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at Grace United Methodist Church, 458 Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta, GA 30308 on Friday, March 5, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers gifts may be made in Craig's name to Grace United Methodist Church, 458 Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta, GA 30308 or the Metropolitan Hospice, 200 Village Pkwy., NE, Marietta, GA 30067. Arrangements by Cremation Society of the SOUTH in Marietta 770-420-5557.
