Lloyd Phillip “Phil” Wood, 67, passed away with his family by his side at his home in Kernersville, NC on Wednesday July 15, 2020.

A native of Chapel Hill, NC, Phil was the husband of Jeanne Bryant Wood and the son of the late Joseph C. Wood Jr. and Marguerite Smith Wood. Phil was a follower of Christ, car enthusiast, musician, history buff, and a self-taught engineer who had an in-depth understanding of anything mechanical. Phil enjoyed helping others. Those closest to him knew how to ask Phil for help and knew he enjoyed solving the puzzle presented to him just as much they enjoyed watching him do it!

Phil was a wonderful example of a husband. Phil was the type of man who would make coffee for his wife every morning even though he didn’t drink coffee himself. Phil had a kind heart and unmatched loyalty. Phil worked for Besana-Lovati for 30+ years and once he found a brand he liked, he stuck with it for life! We will greatly miss him but rejoice knowing that he is without pain and is waiting for us to join him in heaven with his and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

Phil was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; his mother, Marguerite; and his two brothers, Bill and Joe.

Phil is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Julie and spouse, Pat; his two grandchildren, JT and Lillie; his nephew, Glenn and spouse, Ruth; his niece, Valerie and spouse, Robbie; nieces, Jolinda, Andrea, and Meredith; great nephews and nieces, Tyler and spouse, Brianna, Pearce, Bryant, Gram, Wyatt, Brooks, and Wren; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Wehunt and spouse, Lloyd, Roxanna Kerley, and Melissa Anderson.

A walk-thru visitation will be held from 2:00PM to 3:00PM, followed by the funeral service Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will be at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
