I have been on a cancer journey since July of 2007. Noon-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I have had two stem cell transplants so far. I have been to the cancer clinic every day for the last 180 days, even Saturdays, Sundays, and Christmas Day.

God is great and good through all of this.
This is my eleventh year on the faculty of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. I taught choral music at the University of Notre Dame from 1981 to 1991. I was one of the pastors at the Chapel Hill Bible Church from 1991 to 2000 and have been in Louisville since summer of 2000.
In addition to being the worship professor at Southern Seminary, I am director of the Institute for Christian Worship. www.sbts.edu/icw
I am also part-time as the minister of music at Clifton Baptist Church. www.cliftonbaptist.org
I would describe this congregation as a Reformed-minded Southern Baptist Church. Come for a visit.
Doris Perry Stam (Grimsley grad of 1973), my wife of 35 years, has just published a book about her relatives who founded Watauga Academy in 1899, a little school that later became Appalachian State University. Please take a look at www.tinyurl.com/mountaineducators and buy a copy for your friends who are ASU fans. There is now a copy in the Grimsley HS library. Doris's twin sister, Susan Perry Lineberry (married to Scott Lineberry), is a nurse practitioner and still lives in Greensboro.
Most of our family still lives in NC, so we get back fairly often (except for the intense cancer treatment since July of 2007).
Last summer was the 19th year of our summer music camp in Chapel Hill. The Chapel Hill String Camp. www.raspberryridge.org
Until I was hit with the cancer journey, I was still playing a lot of tennis--perhaps again soon. (Deo volente)
Yes, that is my older brother, Paul Stam, who is currently the majority leader in the NC House of Representatives. He is a lawyer in Apex. www.paulstam.info
