Janet Gilbert (Colborne)

I have many fond memories of Jane, who passed away on June 26, 2000 at age 47 from cancer. Jane and I were friends at Lindley Elementary, where we were in Girl Scouts together and her mom was our troop leader. I spent many nights at her house and enjoyed the company of Jane and her mom. Over the years, I lost contact with Jane but we reconnected after she was a patient at Women's Hospital, where I work as an RN. Jane was my patient for part of her admission and I was there when she got her diagnosis  of cancer.

Jane graduated from Greensboro College and Bowman Gray School of Medicine's Physicians Assistant Program. Before her death, she was a P.A. for Wake Forest University Medical Center.

Jane was an only child. Her mom, Patsy Hoffman, has been a volunteer at Womens Hospital since Jane's death so I get to see her often.
